We have received quite a few calls from Fertilization Clients who have noticed that their grass has lost the nice emerald green color that it had just a few days ago. What was nice and green a couple days ago is now mottled green and yellow. As one client said, “it seemed like it happened overnight”.
It’s a classic case of cold injury that we see occasionally in the spring. Most of the lawns have been mowed once or twice and have received their spring application of fertilizer which has flushed out new growth. It is that new growth which has been slightly injured by the cold temps. Don’t worry; you don’t need to do anything other than be patient. The turf will recover quickly as temperatures get warmer and the turf resumes normal growth.
